Pop a VegePod
Wednesday 1 February 2006UK growers High Barn Oils has launched a new Linseed Oil Vege Pod for non-meat eaters looking for an Omega 3 kick.
Available from this month (September), the “Pure Oil Dinner” capsules – known as Pods – are made using a plant-based shell and carry the Vegan Society’s stamp of approval.
“We are delighted to have been able to respond to customer demand for a pure, plant-based capsule for our 100% natural linseed oil,” says High Barn Oils’ Durwin Banks. “For the first time, people who want to avoid all animal fats can enjoy the convenience of having their recommended daily amount of Omega 3 in one no-mess Pod.”
The Vege Pods, available in 120 × 500mg capsules, giving approximately six weeks supply, join High Barn Oils’ existing 120 and 60 × 1,000mg Pods and its superior Culinary Linseed Oil for low and no-temperature cooking, which already carries the Vegan stamp.
All the linseed is home-grown and the oil is farm-produced using a cold press process, similar to that employed for the best single-estate olive oils.
“The care we take over cultivation and production ensures only the purest, freshest oil from a single source reaches the consumer,” says Durwin. “That attention to detail is reflected in the oil’s outstanding health properties, to which thousands of customers testify.
“Although people automatically associate Omega 3 with oily fish, linseed in fact contains almost three times as much and is a pure, sustainable source. We just capture the plant’s natural goodness and deliver it in an easy-to-consume format.”
