Oil-fired Runners Join Marathon

Sunday 16 October 2005

The tiny village of Barns Green will lay claim to being the “home of Omega 3” this Sunday when a group of veterans joins the annual half marathon, running under local farmer Durwin Banks’ colours.

Mr Banks, who produces linseed oil rich in the “wonder fat” Omega 3 at Muntham Home Farm, is sponsoring 40-somethings Piers Van-Mol, Peter Bird and David Smith to run for the British Heart Foundation.

“Many of our more mature customers claim that linseed oil gets them moving, even when joints have almost completely seized, so I expect our team to be out in front!” says Durwin.
